It sounds damn scary. But don't worry, we're still the same nice people as always 😇

The thing is, after the latest MacOS update (called Catalina), Apple changed how they verify new applications - and in order to get rid of that warning, we need to get an updated certificate from Apple. This is taking longer than expected, so here's an easy way to work around it until then.

How to solve it

Step 1: Open Applications, right click on the Lix app and select "open"

Step 2: Select "open" in the new dialog

It didn't work 😓
Did you just get the same old message without an "open" button? Try the right-click-trick once more, sometimes it has to be done twice!

I STILL DON'T GET IT, JUST SHOW ME THE GIF ALREADY

Last resort - aka. the difficult route

If that doesn't work, here's an alternative way to fix it yourself:

  1. Try to install the Lix app again and wait for the pop-up
  2. Go into System preferences
  3. Go to Security and Privacy and select the General tab
  4. At the bottom you can choose to trust Lix and install the app anyway
